3.8/5 stars Second time coming. Solid experience. I'll be back but I'll do take out. Food (4.5/5): all A+'s except for the chili oil. Idk, I think they make the chili oil in house but what i received, was burnt. Now to the actual dishes. - Scallion pancakes: love. Fresh. Hot. Flaky. Light. Savory. Delicious. With the sweet(?) soy sauce. Highly recommend. Great start to any meal. - Bubble Dream Mocktail: super sweet. I'm a fan of sweet drinks and I don't consume alcohol often. This drink is a hit but almost too sweet. I bet if you get the cocktail version (with alcohol), it's perfect. I only recommend getting this drink (alcoholic or virgin) if you like sweet drinks. - Braised tofu with crab meat: if you like crab legs, crab roe, anything authentically crab, GET THIS. The presentation is immaculate. The taste, delectable. I'm not the same person I was before eating this dish. Okay, so I'm being dramatic but, it's really good and I highly recommend this dish. Service (3/5): service was okay. I feel like I had to get someone's attention to get help constantly. It didn't feel rude but it did feel inattentive. The lady who greeted me was great, everyone else was mediocre. Ambience (4/5): it's nice. There is a front area that has a more speakeasy vibe and the back area is more East Asian. No complaints.

I was in a Chinese mood during my time in New York and my cousin had the best recommendation for a Sichuan place on a beautiful Thursday night. We shared the food and Oh my God I was amazed by everything. Service 10/10 - The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, they were on top of refills and they even mixed up my noodles and pork and vegetables. Even though I could've done it myself, I never felt more comfortable and important to them. Interior 9/10 - The place was crowded for a Thursday night but even though the inside felt pretty small and tight, it looked amazing in there. Food 10/10 - Everything was delicious the Kung Fu Shrimp was well spiced up and crispy, the buns however caught me by surprise as it bursted on my face after I took the first bite but it was still delicious. As for the rest of the food, it was cooked to damn near perfection and me and my cousin crushed every single thing on the table. Overall this was a surprisingly good restaurant perfect for people who crave spicy foods and everything felt and tasted authentic and I would 100% recommend this place. 9.8/10

I came here for dinner one evening with my friend and had a great time. The interior of the restaurant is warm and casual. Service was pretty quick. We got the dan dan noodles, beef pancake, and the chungking spicy chicken. The dan dan noodles with pretty standard--I wasn't blown away by them but they weren't bad! I liked the beef pancake wrap as it was crispy and flaky and full of beef. The chungking spicy chicken was also pretty good and came in a big portion! I would love to come back and try some of their more unique dishes, such as their truffle beef steak!

Talk about being blown away in surprise. I'm not the biggest Szechuan guy but this place is epic. Absolutely freaking amazing. There wasn't a single bad thing we ordered. The staff are super attentive, the place itself is comfortable and casual. You must go. It's amazing

Came here one weekday evening and the place was lively. We ordered some chili chicken, beans, cold noodles, dumplings, and cumin lamb for the table. Everything was delicious! Spicy enough with great flavor and generously portioned. Service was friendly and polite. I don't live in this city but next time I'm around, I'd be happy to come back to this place. I'd recommend you give it a try.

Chili is serving up a ton of delicious Szechuan flavors in Midtown Manhattan. It's kind of got a "hole in the wall" vibe, but it's super cute inside. Service was great - they served us within the closing hour and I very much appreciate that! We tried the pork dumplings in chili oil and I had to try the ma po tofu - amazing. Crunchy celery mixed with puffy soft and spicy tofu and served with white rice. The ultimate comfort food. There's so much more on the menu I want to come back for: cold noodle, dan dan noodle, tofu with crab, and many more! If you love Szechuan food, this is a good spot!

One of the top notch and delicious Chinese / Szechuan spots! We ordered: -jellyfish salad: super refreshing and flavorful. -braised tofu with crab meat: very delicious and it tasted like salted egg was added to it which really enhances the flavor -spicy cumin lamb: kind of remind me of the lamb skewers and it's a nice balance of meat and veggies that consist of onions and cilantro -white style chungking braised fish stew: my favorite dish and practically fished the entire dish including the soup. The fish fillets were tender and the soup itself is flavorful and not crazy spicy which makes it really enjoyable. Overall service is quick and attentive. Great ambiance for both small and large groups.

I found myself at Chili for a work holiday get together. I had never been here before, but one of my colleagues had good things to say so I was really excited to check it out - plus discovering a new spot is never a bad thing in my book. Chili sits in Midtown East close to Murray Hill and K-Town. Like many other Manhattan restaurants, the space itself isn't too big; there's a bar towards the front of the restaurant with tables on the opposite wall, with more towards the back. The decor is kind of bright with soft blues and tasteful decor throughout the space. There were 5 of us, and we decided to order everything family style to share. We started with some shrimp dumplings, wontons, and scallion pancakes. These were all good - tasty without being overly salty. We then moved onto mains - spicy lamb, spicy chicken, eggplant, and tofu. Again, everything was really tasty - I don't tolerate high spice levels but this was just enough heat where I was able to enjoy everything. We had a couple of rounds of drinks and I wouldn't overlook their craft cocktail menu - they were creative and tasty. Service was good - we were told once seated there was a 90-minute limit which they adhered to as we saw a party waiting at the door as we were wrapping up. I think for a party of 5 that 2 hours would have been more appropriate, but I also understand that it's the holidays and they need to turn over tables. Overall, I had a solid experience at Chili, and would return to explore more of their menu.

Came here on a Sunday evening for an early dinner with no reservation. Was grateful as our initial restaurant had a 1 hour wait. Service was great - everyone was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was also nice and clean. Ordered a fair bit of dishes to share with friends. Really delicious and the spicy dishes definitely had a kick to it. Also ordered dumplings for kids and they were happy with it. Vegetarian friendly as we came with our friends who are vegetarians.
